Hopefully you don’t need to be convinced that ‘Emotional Intelligence’ is real – the data are everywhere and very compelling.
We pay special attention to it in our program for that very reason.
Nowadays we all spend a lot of time staring at computer screens, smartphones, texting, and such. I guess that’s ok, but your ability to actually read and react appropriately to other peoples’ attitudes and emotions will impact your career success.
And like any other skill, it takes regular exercise and ‘practice’.
Shakespeare said – ‘the eyes are the window to the soul’.
How about having a little fun with ‘Social Intelligence’? I saw this 10 minute quiz online – seemed pretty cool, so I figured I would share it.
Treat it more as just a reminder that paying attention to body language is part of being an effective communicator.
I have no idea how valid it is as far as scoring goes – that’s not my point really.
